My goal for my project was that I wanted it to look like a piece of coral/seashell from the ocean. I thought it would be easier than it actually ended up being. I really wanted the pinched effect of a seashell on the sides of my project, but it was difficult to do with my acrylic nails on. If I did this project again I would definitely not have long nails on, so that it would be easier to use my hands on the project. I also would store my project in a bigger plastic bag because I found my project getting smashed whenever I’d put it in my smaller ziplock bag. One setback I did find was that my project did not hold shape very well. Each new day I’d work on my project I would have to reshape it. Overall, I enjoyed this project and finally being able to get our hands on clay. I think it was a great idea for our first project to be 100% our own idea and not too hard to accomplish. I am excited for the next project and hopefully, eventually, getting to add colored glazes to future projects.
